"The memories of our trip to Milan for Lam Tian-xing's solo exhibition in 2011 still linger with me. As the curator for the show, I recall the precious moments shared with our team from Hong Kong, who, owing to a language barrier, relied on our kind and bilingual Italian friends for effective communication with the audience, journalists, and participants.

 

The cultural exchange was truly invaluable as we introduced the art of "Shui-mo" (Chinese brush painting) to a captivated audience, which included artists, professors, art students, and individuals from all walks of life. Most of whom were unfamiliar with this technique.

The preparation for the exhibition was a collaborative effort with our European team, which included friends from the Netherlands, Germany, and Italy. Our time together was filled with enjoyable and fun moments, including following Lam in practicing yoga in front of the paintings. The memories of these experiences will remain with me forever.

 

Lam Tian-xing, who serves as the chairman of various art groups, is more than a keen promoter of art. He is a dear friend and talented chef to me. Time flies indeed, as it has already been 12 years since that transformative trip to Milan."
